Thank you for viewing my profile. It is a joy to connect with you! It has been a gift to work with dynamic teams (over the last 20+ yrs). As a clinician my experience (18.5 yrs) has spanned hospital, community, corporate and social service settings. In my capacity leading and guiding teams, I had the opportunity to hold advisory roles within universities and on provincial planning tables. Guiding strategies, promoting best practices and being committed to cultural safety, has strengthened my counselling philosophy. I have worked one-on-one, in groups, with families and couples experiencing trauma, depression, anxiety, substance overuse and gender based violence. My experience has also given me the capacity to work with immigration and settlement, racism, discrimination, legal disputes, violence, torture, chronic diagnosis and aspects of care related to 2SLGBTQ+ communities. I practice counselling and psychotherapy from a place of warmth, respect, compassion and curiosity. My approach incorporates the awareness of inter-generational patterns and considers systems such as families, societies and cultures which impact our psychological development, worldview and well-being. You are a dynamic and complex individual. Should you determine that I am a good fit to support your therapeutic goals, I will “walk beside you,” exploring the avenues that have impacted your journey. Our work will focus on learning and building on the experiences that have shaped you and those that will lead to best outcomes ahead. Trust and connection are essential to every therapeutic journey. The use of person-centered, experiential, culturally focused, trauma aware and feminist models will all allow us to seek deeper understanding. Using emotion focused, psychodynamic, cognitive, behavioural and mindful practices you will experience a model of therapy that is tailored to your unique values and goals. “There is no such thing as single issue struggle because we do not live single issue lives.” Audre Lorde
