MSW, Registered Social Worker
Counsellor's Gender: Woman, Cisgender
Ethno-Racial Identity: East/Southeast Asian
Hi, my name is Amy, and I am a Registered Social Worker passionate about supporting individuals dealing with intergenerational trauma, low self-esteem, and relationship challenges. My journey to becoming a therapist is rooted in my experience as a first-generation Korean-Canadian immigrant. Growing up in a small suburban town, I often felt out of place because my cultural and racial identity didn’t align with the dominant norms around me. The pressures of fitting in, combined with the stresses of immigration and family trauma, significantly shaped my worldview. I understand that struggles with self-acceptance, discrimination, and family conflict can be isolating. Healing is not a one-size-fits-all process, but there is immense value in having someone walk alongside you during difficult times. As a therapist, I deeply respect your unique lived experience and am committed to co-creating a therapeutic relationship built on trust, safety, and support for growth. Together, we will explore the impact of past wounds on your present life, better manage difficult emotions, and heal relationships with yourself and others. Whether this is a new challenge or something you've been facing for a while, change is possible, and I would be honoured to support you in your journey toward healing.
