My intention for this space is to give you a little insight into who I am as a person and my approach to therapy. Much of the work we do in therapy is centred around the connection and relationship built between two people. I think it’s important for you to understand who I am. In a nutshell, I am passionate about empowering others to transform their lives in a meaningful way. To begin to untangle the emotions and experiences of life and to find a way back to yourself or to discover who you really are after all. Much of this passion comes from my own personal journey of resiliency and self-discovery. I am authentic and genuine and have a large capacity to be with people in hard, complex spaces. I will support you and challenge you when needed. I also believe it’s equally important to not take myself so seriously, to bring in balance by acknowledging strengths, finding joy and weaving humour into the therapeutic process. The primary goal is for you to feel safe, supported, and heard. Therapy is an opportunity to unpack our stories in connection with another human. This process can unearth moments of clarity, realization and a deep understanding of ourselves. A curiosity around why we think, feel and behave the way we do can lead to insight, awareness and positive change. I practice from a trauma-informed, person-centred approach, and pull in an eclectic blend of various modalities along the way, where it naturally fits in. My own experiences in life have provided me with a solid foundation of empathy and understanding, and I often lean on these experiences in working with: childhood trauma, complex family dynamics, attachment issues, anxiety, ADHD, eating disorders, addiction, grief and loss, and the emotional rollercoaster that comes with raising a family. I have a passion for supporting those who have experienced abuse or are victims of violence and the work that goes into building self-confidence and self-worth. I’m a registered psychotherapist and member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). I hold a master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from the University of Western Ontario. I have specialized training in supporting those who have experienced trauma and eating disorders. I am also a certified ADHD Clinical Services Provider, and Addictions Informed Professional.
