Carolina is a warm, responsive and interactive therapist and social worker with over 20 years of valuable experience and a deep passion for supporting individuals and families through significant life changes and their mental health impacts. Carolina believes that improving our quality of life and well-being is related to seeking emotional, social and community support through therapy, counselling and other services. Carolina is a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Workers (OCSWSSW), who earned a Master of Health Sciences and a Bachelor of Social Work. Carolina’s approach is person-centered, strengths-based, and anti-oppressive. Her practice is focused on promoting health, guaranteeing rights and combating social inequality. She specializes in providing therapy for youth, adults, seniors, and families. She incorporates a blend of strategies drawn from utilizing elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness Therapies, Solution Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. Carolina also has additional training in assisting children and adolescents who are victims of domestic violence. Professional experience accumulated with various vulnerable groups such as homeless people, refugees and slam/favelas residents in Brazil. Using her considerable knowledge, skill and experience as a therapist and social worker, nothing gives Carolina more enrichment than helping her clients feel better and stronger about themselves as she supports them on their journey to greater strength, resilience and well-being! Carolina can offer counselling in both English and Portuguese.
