Dawn Reid (She/Her)

MDiv, BSW, Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
Counsellor's Gender: Woman, Cisgender
Ethno-Racial Identity: Black

I’m a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) who walks with people through the tender places of their lives. I support individual adults 18+ and couples honoring the unique stories and struggles that shape each person’s journey. My work is rooted in compassion, creating a space where you can rest, be heard, and feel gently supported. Together, we’ll explore what’s been heavy, ease the hurts you’ve been carrying, and move toward steadier, more hopeful ways of being through calm, meaningful conversations.

Working with me is collaborative, supportive, and grounded in respect. I believe therapy works best when you feel safe enough to be honest -without pressure, judgment, or having to “get it right.” My role is to walk alongside you, helping you make sense of your experiences and supporting you as you move toward meaningful change.

Sessions are paced to meet you where you are. Some days we may focus on practical tools for managing emotions, stress, or relationship challenges; other days we may slow things down to explore deeper patterns, emotions, or past experiences. I balance structure with flexibility, adapting our work to what feels most helpful for you in the moment.

I take a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach and value all cultures. I’m attentive to how identity, culture, relationships, faith, and life experiences shape who you are. You can expect me to listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions, and gently challenge patterns that may no longer be serving you - always with compassion and care.

Whether you’re coming in as an individual or as a couple, my goal is to help you build insight, emotional resilience, and healthier ways of relating to yourself and others. Therapy with me is a space for growth, healing, empowerment and learning to move forward with greater clarity and confidence.
