MSW, RSW, Registered Social Worker
Ethno-Racial Identity:
South Asian, Multi-ethnic
My name is Heidi Kiran Mehta and I use she/her pronouns. I offer anti-oppressive, trauma-informed and trauma-treating healing therapy for liberation. I am a registered Social Worker-Psychotherapist, yoga teacher, and consultant. I have a Master's Degree in Social Work with a specialization in Health and Mental Health (2012) and more than 25 years of professional experience in health, education, and community settings. I have led award winning programs and been nominated for awards for equity and social justice work. I am passionate in supporting BIPOC, South Asians, women, LGBTQ+ communities, and people with disabilities. I have lived experience as a queer femme of colour, child of immigrants, and person with a disability. I am also a settler on Turtle island. I help folks to move from problem saturated narratives and trauma to liberation using culturally sensitive, somatic, and cognitive therapies with compassion and care. I recognize that certain aspects of our society are traumatic and recognize this as a root of suffering. I have worked with immigrants; refugees; the South Asian Community; Indigenous peoples; BIPOC; multiracial people; queer, trans, and non-binary folks; people who practice ENM; sex workers; people with poverty trauma; people with disabilities; people who are neurodivergent; people with traumatic brain injuries; people with chronic pain and illnesses; survivors of sexual and intimate partner violence; post-secondary students; folks experiencing intersecting identities; and more. I believe we all want a better world for ourselves and for our communities. I want us all to heal and thrive. I strive to offer a safe space for your sacred stories and consider it a great privilege to support folks in their journeys.
