Jay Jonah (He/Him)

MSW, Registered Social Worker
Ethno-Racial Identity: White
I specialize in working with queer, transgender, 2SILGBTQ, and gender non-conforming individuals, as well as the parents and partners of these individuals. As a person with lived experience of being trans/queer, depression, anxiety, body shame, self-doubt, and neurodivergence, I know what it feels like to be discriminated against, feel powerless, be excluded and feel alone. For these reasons, I do my best to create a warm, welcoming, and judgment-free space where you are in control of the conversation. I will work collaboratively with you to navigate life’s challenges, uncover your strengths, build resilience, and broaden your understanding of self and others. If you identify as 2SILGBTQ I can support you through coming out, transitioning, body image, family, work, school, dating, relationships, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, and life challenges in general. If you are a parent or partner of a 2SILGBTQ person we can work together to address concerns, confused thoughts and feelings, self-doubt, support options, advocacy skills, and much more. I believe your voice needs to be heard, listened to, affirmed, and appreciated. You are more than just your identity; you are a whole person full of complex thoughts, feelings, and emotions that sometimes connect back to your identity and sometimes don’t. I'm eager to use my lived experience and clinical skills to support you along your journey of exploration and self-discovery.
