I am a Registered Social Worker with experience over 30 years which has prepared me well to support diverse communities with diverse interventions. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, an Honours Bachelor of Social Work, and a Master of Social Work degree all from York University. I am registered with both the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Services Workers (OCSWSSW) and the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW).

I have held a position in the school board as a Mental Health Worker. I worked in child welfare most notably in a fostering and adoption role. I was also Child and Youth Advocate for the Province of Ontario providing rights advice and representing children and youth wishes and preferences at case conferences involving the child welfare, justice, and education sectors.

My client base is Adolescence, Parent-Child Conflict, Child Welfare, Fostering and Adoption/Post-Adoption clients, Individual and Family Conflict, and African-Canadian clients.

I currently provide support to students at the secondary and elementary level as well as their families. I have conducted mental health presentations, bereavement retreats, healthy relationship workshops, coping with stress workshops, Anti-Black Racism forums and sat on Anti-Black Racism panels. I currently run Black Youth Groups and Women’s Clubs at the Secondary school level.

I am trained in Dialectic Behaviour Therapy (DBT) , BRISC (Brief Intervention for School Clinicians), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy, and Trauma-Informed Therapy.
