
Svetlana Mrzic (She/Her)
Svetlana is a Registered Psychotherapist. Svetlana has been supporting clients within the mental health system for over two decades and has gained considerable experience working with a diverse population including students, newcomers, first responders, seniors, youth, couples, families, and those who are justice-involved. Svetlana has collaborated with client outreach initiatives, provided front-line psychiatric assessments for emergency services, and worked in a number of therapeutic environments including the community, institutions, and non-profit organizations. Svetlana approaches her work with clients (and their families) from a compassionate and strengths-based perspective which aims to respect the unique needs and differences of each individual, honours the experiences of a person’s life journey, and bears witness to the inevitable pain and suffering we all face as part of the human condition. Svetlana’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Religious Studies wherein Svetlana learned to develop a deeper understanding of world religions, sacred practices, and ancient wisdom. Svetlana obtained her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology with a special focus on trauma and substance use. Svetlana believes in a holistic approach to client care which does not solely rely on a medical understanding of issues and presenting symptoms but also strives to integrate the many different facets of human experience including a search for meaning, purpose, and belonging in life. Svetlana has received post-graduate training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Cognitive Processing Therapy as well as Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. Svetlana makes every attempt to stay current with clinical training, research developments, and case consultation, to ensure that each person is receiving the best care possible.
Her mission is to encourage innovational life-changing experiences, and integrative psychotherapy, spiritual care and counselling services. Her vision is to live with joy by acknowledging the brokenness and healing by setting intentions.
