Aqsa Javaid (She/Her)
I never imagined that my lived experiences, navigating the complexities of culture, grief, and intergenerational expectations, would one day become the compass guiding my work as a therapist.
I work with individuals and couples navigating perfectionism, the impacts of bullying, trauma, body image concerns and body dysmorphia, OCD, ADHD, addiction-related patterns, and experiences of grief and loss. I support clients who feel overwhelmed, misunderstood, or stuck in self-criticism, and who are seeking a warm, trauma-informed, culturally attuned space to understand themselves and create lasting change. I also work with couples seeking deeper emotional connection, healthier communication, and a more secure relational foundation.
I have completed extensive clinical hours as a therapist, supported crisis calls in three languages (Urdu, Punjabi, and English), and worked on the frontlines of intake and suicide risk screening at a community mental health agency. From writing medico-legal psychiatric reports to guiding goal-setting over distress-line calls, I have learned that the first point of contact can shape someone’s willingness to keep seeking help.
My approach is rooted in trauma-informed care, TF-CBT, ACT, IFS, DBT, Brainspotting, EFT, EMDR, and narrative practices. More than modalities, I believe in the healing power of human connection. I use humor, visuals, metaphors, and practical tools so therapy feels grounded and collaborative while honoring the depth of each client’s experience. My goal is to help clients build agency, clarity, emotional resilience, and more fulfilling relationships.
